Your role:



The Director International Tax leads the U.S. Tax team's international tax function and drives key activities, initiatives, and projects as one of the leaders in our Global Tax Team and a member the Global CFO organization.


Our future Director will lead and develop a team of talented international tax professionals in all aspects of international tax work including partnering with business colleagues, leading the international financial reporting/provision and compliance processes, working on international restructuring projects and transfer pricing matters, and supporting international tax audit and controversy related matters.


The Director and the international team work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across tax, our three business sectors (EMD Serono in Healthcare, MilliporeSigma in LifeScience, EMD Electronics) and enabling functions with the goal to understand business and finance operations and to develop pragmatic tax recommendations and solutions to meet business and finance organization needs.



Who You Are:




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, MST, LLM (taxation) or JD preferred)

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in corporate tax; 15 years preferred.

  • Experience in leadership roles with proven strategic abilities.

  • Significant compliance and planning experience with complex multinational enterprises including with: GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, 163(j), BEAT, OECD Pillar 2, Tax Treaties, corporate integration and restructuring projects, supply chain and IP planning and Transfer pricing matters. Ability to propose and defend technical analyses and positions.

  • Experience managing tax and financial audit matters and related risk assessment and tax accounting/reporting matters.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and liaise on complex issues at multiple levels of the organization across business and finance teams.

  • High-level of strategic thinking and planning skills with application to the company's complex international structures

  • Strong skills and abilities in leading and developing team members and in fostering collaboration on complex workflows and multistakeholder interactions.

  • Experience assessing, implementing, and utilizing digital tools and processes in relation to tax matters.

  • Highly organized, conscientious, self-motivated, and self-directed

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work and make decisions independently and in a team environment.

  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones and working hours to support our global organization.




Location: Burlington, MA, USA, Hybrid



Travel: As needed for respective projects and for Group Tax meetings; < 20%
