Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $30.39.

Starting Wage $30.39/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The purpose of the Human Resources Associate role is to coordinate and streamline Human Resource actions, with a primary focus on payroll. Accompanying duties include scheduling, information updates and facility communication. Additional support activities may also be provided in the following areas: customer service, production reporting, and general administrative support to various plant departments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Significant Time):

  • Provide administrative and program support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Administer accurate timekeeping and reporting, payroll, maintenance of personnel files and records.
  • Review for accuracy time submitted by crew supervisor’s/timekeepers and communicating errors to be addressed.
  • Interpret policies and procedures and assist employees as needed.
  • Provide support with new employee onboarding and new hire orientations. (i.e. job offers, drug testing, background checks, etc.)
  • Validate employee time data in the payroll system and process payroll data validation.
  • Maintain employee data on Workday.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR in the absence of the HR Manager and HR Services Specialist.
  • Assist with organization of all company functions.
  • Oversee communication efforts, including plant newsletters, company announcements, compliance bulletin boards, and quarterly town hall meetings.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Moderate Time):

As determined by the facility, additional support activities may be provided in one or more of the following areas:

  • Assist with safety training and reporting.
  • Provide administrative support for HR and plant departments, including payroll and clerical tasks.
  • Process outgoing and incoming mail, screen calls and visitors, maintain office supplies, and operate office equipment for other departments.
  • Assist in filing, organizing, and maintaining documents in various departments.
  • Prepare summaries and materials for presentations and build and maintain reports as required.
  • Communicate and interact with internal contacts and external vendors, customers, and the public as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school/technical school diploma with a minimum of 6 years of general human resources, payroll, and basic accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and understand other software applications such as SAP, online travel reservations, and electronic expense reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Fundamental mathematical skills and accounting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of local, state, federal, and government rules and regulations regarding privacy laws, health records, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
  • Working knowledge of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Minimal travel required (0-10 days per year).
  • May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to and including 25 pounds.
  • The work environment is typical of an office setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school level of math, language and reasoning skills.
  • 4+ years’ experience in an administrative support role.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a role where confidentiality was essential.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience processing payroll.
  • Experience using ADP products, or other automated payroll systems.
  • Completion of a business-related diploma/certificate, or the equivalent training and experience.
