We are looking for a highly skilled OSP Engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to make network design decisions based on Engineering Guidelines and design criteria. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers, explaining the service order process and method of delivery clearly.
This role involves field surveys and engineering design for our Fios Open for Sale program.
The candidate will survey customer locations and the surrounding Network to develop a local design solution for service delivery.
Responsibilities include identifying Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber Optic Network elements near the customer and determining the most effective delivery methods.
The role requires coordination with multiple teams and direct interaction with business and residential customers. Work will be performed both outdoors and indoors within customer premises.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and design additions, upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to the network.
Select and price solutions based on the most efficient, cost-effective, and timely design.
Coordinate with internal departments and maintain customer-focused communication with residential and business end-users, building contractors, and property owners.
Conduct field surveys to assess network infrastructure and determine the best methods of delivery.
Identify and document Outside Plant Fiber Optic Network elements and service availability.
Ensure seamless execution of network implementation while meeting project timelines.
Communicate technical details in a clear, concise manner to diverse audiences.
Qualifications/ Must-Have:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interact with customers and explain technical solutions effectively.
Experience in network design and engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience in Outside Plant Engineering, Construction, or Installation.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Technical, Science, or Mathematics fields.
Experience working with Windows-based programs and corporate database systems.
Proficiency in CAD, MS Excel, and MS Access.
