Great opportunity for a Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Fabrication to work for a global manufacturing leader located just outside of South Bend, IN
Our client is diversified leader on a global scale specializing in Automotive, RV, and Marine components looking for a Engineering & Operations Executive to be responsible for the development & improvement of fabrication strategy across all US sites.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the steel fabrication operations strategy for high-volume parts production, with focus on the development of stamping, welding, and shear/punch forming processes.
Develop and execute manufacturing strategies to ensure cost-effective, high-quality production at scale
Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste
Champion the implementation of innovative solutions and best practices to improve product quality, lead times, and overall operational efficiency
Stay current with the latest advancements in manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, and digital fabrication tools, to improve production capabilities.
Optimize labor, material, and machine resource planning to maximize output and reduce costs
Manage budgets for the US fabrication division, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, and maintaining cost control over all production processes.
Ensure the highest standards of quality control for all parts fabricated, with a focus on precision, durability, and adherence to industry certifications and standards.
Coordinate with executives within procurement, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure that the materials, equipment, and processes are aligned with customer and project specifications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.) are a plus.
In-depth knowledge of stamping, welding, shear/punch forming technologies and best practices.
Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies such as robotics, automation, and digital fabrication tools is a plus.
Experience in using ERP and manufacturing management software to optimize production processes and inventory control.
