SVI a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic for the Zahl Maintenance contract in Adelphi, MD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform needed preventive maintenance on the equipment and facilities under contract
Assist other Stampede Ventures techs when needed
Report additional work to supervisor that may need to be done not covered in preventive maintenance.
Maintain excellent customer relations during job performance by interacting with all levels of management
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
Must be able to pass an extensive background check
Must have a valid driver's license and transportation
Should own the basic tools needed to perform maintenance on the equipment
High school education or equivalent
Must be able to pass drug screening
3-5 years of experience maintaining and repairing Building and basic equipment.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to interface with all levels of management
Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
Ability to work well independently or in a team setting
Have good knowledge of electricity, carpentry and plumbing among other technical skills
Have good knowledge of troubleshooting techniques to determine exact problems and tackle them accordingly
Excellent ability to communicate system problems to both co-workers and management for proper understanding
Exhibit good mechanical skills to handle equipment to avoid causing injuries to self and others on ground
Ability to evaluate computer related work orders in accordance with accuracy.
Preferred
Facility maintenance experience with the DoD preferred.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory functions.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
