General Summary



The Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for the development, management and overall coordination of the Quovadx, CareScience system to facilitate the performance improvement and program development within the organization. The individual uses analytic skills to help design hypotheses, test and analyze study results and uses knowledge of State regulatory and accrediting agencies requirements to guide or focus data gathering efforts for the organization. In addition, the individual is a key user of the CareScience, Quality Manager system to develop the routine physician performance reports. The individual serves as a liaison with the Information Technology Department coordinating and maintaining data quality and flow to CareScience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in health related field with emphasis on data analysis. Master's degree preferred. Appropriate level of clinical background to understand and interpret clinical data. Ability to conduct hypothesis/ statistical testing. Proven proficiency in the use and application of clinical decision support systems, involving detailed reporting and data analysis. Ability to organize, prioritize and manage several projects at one time.

  • Proficiency in computer spread sheets and databases, word processing and graphics required. Experience in health care policy a plus.

  • The associate must have strong organization skills, ability to perform multiple tasks with interruptions and manage time effectively to achieve simultaneous goals. Must demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing. Must have demonstrated strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrates a commitment to goals and teamwork.


Working Conditions



Normal office environment. Works inside a clean, well-lighted environment. May be exposed to frequent interruptions, multiple demands. Work is high demand. Early morning meetings are occasionally necessary. Potential for minimal exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials requires the observance of standard precaution and safe handling practices.



Physical Requirements



Manual dexterity for utilizing computer keyboard is required. Articulates clearly in order to present information to a variety of audiences/customers. Standing, walking, stooping and bending are required. Frequent listening, telephone communication, visual acuity to read medical records, department literature, data reports and video
