Job Summary:

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of automated systems in production. This role focuses on optimizing and troubleshooting automation systems, including PLC programming, robotics, servo systems, vision systems, and other automated processes. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all automated systems run efficiently and meet production goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop, program, and maintain PLC systems to support automation processes.
  • Design and implement robotics applications, including programming and troubleshooting robotic systems.
  • Work on servo systems and vision systems to enhance automated manufacturing processes.
  • Design, build, and troubleshoot electrical panels for automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for automation improvements and work on system upgrades.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to maintenance and production teams regarding automation systems.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase overall system reliability.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure systems are optimized and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex automation systems, including vision and servo systems.
  • Assist with the implementation of new automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems and changes made to automation processes.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming and diagnostics.
  • Proficient in HMI design, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in designing and troubleshooting electrical panels for automation systems.
  • Experience with robotic systems programming and application.
  • Proficient in the repair and maintenance of vision systems and servo drive systems.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and process diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of automation technology and industrial systems.
  • Must have experience with PLCs, robotics, servo systems, and vision systems.
  • Must be a team player, well-organized, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
