Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall execution of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Manage project teams, including engineers, field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction site, ensuring all activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Regularly communicate with clients, stakeholders, and senior management to provide updates on project progress, timelines, and potential issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to resolve project challenges, delays, or unforeseen issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors is completed in a timely manner and within budget constraints.
- Monitor and manage project costs, tracking and reporting on expenditures to avoid budget overruns.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to review and ensure the accuracy of design, plans, and project specifications.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, conducting regular site safety audits.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members, encouraging collaboration and ensuring the highest standards of performance.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports, including timelines, costs, and any deviations or risks.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the client and the project team.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and permits.
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are met without compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects.
- Proven experience with large-scale projects such as roads (Earthworks, Roadway, Drainage, Grading) bridges, utilities, and other infrastructure.
- Strong project management skills with a focus on budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and construction codes (OSHA, local regulations).
