Hiring rate: $17.561-25.887/hour. Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.

Performs and processes multiple front-end transactional accounting processes including entering data onto forms and other accounting/financial documents or databases to ensure proper accounting of funds.
Codes vouchers for identification.
Computes amounts to be disbursed/collected and applying established collection, discount and/or refund procedures.
Sorts and files correspondence and records to ensure uniform storage and generating standardized reports.
Generates, extracts, compiles, organizes and analyzes financial data from vouchers, ledgers, journals and other accounting documents and databases to develop and prepare spreadsheets, reports, statements and other financial documents or files.
Maintains professional and excellent communication skills with vendors, agency personnel, agency staff, public, and other agencies to answer inquiries, provide and elicit information, and clarify any matters that may be in question.
Educates agency staff, service providers, clients, customers or other billing entities on the complete billing process or by providing interpretations of existing agency policies and procedures to answer inquiries, clarify matters in question.
Understand mathematical functions related to accounting processes.
The principles and practices of double entry accounting concepts and procedures; clerical accounting methods, forms and techniques; the methods of filing and maintaining accounting records
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Working independently, multi-tasking and making independent decisions.
Learn and apply the principles and concepts of specific agency programs, regulations and procedures of an accounting system
Learn and apply GAAP practices and standards
Review accounting documents for completeness and conformance with specific requirements and to take the appropriate corrective action when necessary
Compute and compile financial data involving the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR experience performing accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.
Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance field; proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel; Experience with computer software programs. Classifying accounting transactions, maintain, and reconcile accounts experience. Computer and data entry experience including Enterprise One (E1).
Other: Applicant accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
