Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Location: Downers Grove, Illinois (on site full-time)

Job Summary

This Senior Financial Analyst position is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full FP&A support to the Corporate Finance team.

The Senior Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for financial reporting and data analytics. The FP&A Analyst will have an advanced ability to analyze data, highlight key insights, and recommend actions to key stakeholders. This analysis focus includes analyzing, researching, and preparing financial information and reports to meet specific daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines. This position will have frequent interaction with internal business partners and should be comfortable building strong relationships and asking questions.

Develop, implement, perform, and direct processes, systems, and people for the corporate budgeting, accounting, management, control, and auditing of assets and expenses. Manage, improve, and provide greater visibility of corporate-wide global expenses via the regular daily reporting of KPIs and ongoing financial information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to understand Corporate Finance business needs and translate those needs into specific analytics requirements.
  • Extract, cleanse, and manipulate large data from multiple data sources into standardized reporting structures.
  • Consistently seek out new challenges and opportunities for improvement with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and implement new technologies and platforms.
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to plan and organize tasks, responsibilities, and priorities.

  • Develop and manage overall company budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis specifically related to asset and expense management by working with and providing budget, forecasting, and variance analysis for individual divisions, departments, companies, branches, business units, and the entire corporation
  • Develop Cost-benefit analysis and business plans ROI analysis and other ad hoc analyses for expense reduction projects and opportunities
  • Continually seek opportunities to streamline and automate processes; identify gaps, holes, and process deficiencies in expense and asset-related management processes; identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities related to corporate and operational assets and operating expenses; implement improvements

METRICS
  • To meet or exceed expense ratios and EBITDA results
  • To meet deadlines and objectives as agreed and typically described in quarterly reviews or project planning/tracking
  • To handle ongoing projects and day-to-day demands that are not identified in formal monthly objectives in a timely and accurate manner

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • There are currently no direct reports associated with this role

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Solid experience with Data Warehousing and BI systems (PowerPivot, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Expertise in MS Excel including the ability to define and debug advanced formulae, look-ups, power queries, advanced charting, and pivot tables.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting tools, and data visualization tools (SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, and QlikView).
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of accounting theory and experience in applying accounting principles (GAAP); and understanding and ability in overall financial management and analysis.
  • Strong analytical, management, and communication skills, problem-solving ability, opportunity recognition capability, detail-oriented, and a personal commitment to quality and hands-on management style. Ability to work well with other executive management and managers, with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited university in finance, economics or an equivalent combination of experience and education is preferred. Financial statement acumen is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a directly related area, during which professional capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position is in an hybrid/office environment and entails:
  • Continuous sitting resulting from computer usage for extended periods
  • Occasional walking (including to other departments and buildings) reaching and lifting.

BONUS/COMMISSION PROGRAM

Eligible for yearly discretionary company bonus which will be tied, in part to company sales goal attainment and company and business unit financial results

WORK SCHEDULE

This is an exempt position, which requires a work schedule that will achieve the results and objectives identified by the company based on deadlines, workload and status of various projects, which typically result in hours beyond the standard hours of operations. Generally, the company operates and most of those who will interface with this position work the business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
