Position Type: Part-Time (Immediate Start) transitioning to Full-Time Summer Internship, with potential for ongoing work
Start Date: As soon as possible
About Us
We're a newly acquired turbine engine company pushing the boundaries of innovation in engine design. Our team is hard at work modifying and modernizing our systems, and we're looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join us on this exciting journey. If you're ready to dive into real-world engineering challenges, work with cutting-edge technology, and hear the roar of jet fuel igniting on our test stand, this is your chance!
The Opportunity
We're updating a 20-year-old controller for our turbine engines, and we need a sharp, hands-on intern to assist with the electrical engineering side of this redesign. You'll work directly with our team, starting with the existing controller, programs, and test rigs as a foundation. In just three weeks, we plan to fire up our prototype board on the test stand-making loud noises and burning jet fuel-so there's no time to waste! This role offers immediate part-time work, transitioning to a full-time summer internship, with the potential for ongoing contributions as we refine and enhance the design.
What You'll Do
Collaborate on updating and modernizing an embedded controller system for turbine engines.
Assist in troubleshooting, testing, and integrating the prototype controller using existing test rigs.
Contribute to light programming tasks to support new features and improvements.
Help design and implement additional functionalities as we evolve toward the final product.
Get hands-on experience with real hardware, from circuit boards to roaring engines.
What We're Looking For
Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related program.
Interest or experience in embedded systems and light programming (e.g., C, C++, or similar).
Enthusiasm for hands-on work with hardware and a willingness to learn on the fly.
Availability to start part-time immediately (flexible hours) and commit to a full-time summer internship.
A passion for engines, innovation, or loud noises is a big plus!
What You'll Gain
Practical experience with embedded systems, controller design, and turbine engine technology.
Exposure to a fast-paced, real-world engineering project from prototype to production.
The chance to see (and hear!) your work come to life on our test stand.
Mentorship from an experienced team and the opportunity for long-term involvement.
