Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Chapman University invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Creative and Cultural Industries, beginning Fall 2025.
This position is housed within Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences' Creative and Cultural Industries Program. The successful candidate will specialize in the area of Fashion Studies and Cultures and should have cross-cultural expertise and academic training in these areas. In addition to excellent scholarship, ideal candidates will have experience and contacts in the professional field of fashion. Complementary disciplinary expertise in any of the following subjects would be an advantage: anthropology, area studies, cultural studies, digital media and emerging technologies, material culture, sociology, sustainability, or visual culture.

The Creative and Cultural Industries program at Chapman University is strongly interdisciplinary, exploring the role of CCI as a reimagining of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in the 21st Century. The integrated Center for CCI Research examines the new directions for CCI as a discipline. The Center strives to support innovative research projects in CCI as an interdisciplinary process.

Responsibilities
* Teach undergraduate courses in fashion industries and related fields.
* Develop and deliver engaging and innovative course content that reflects current trends in the field.
* Mentor and advise students on academic and career development.
* Participate in program service activities, including student advising, committee work, and curriculum development.
* Tenure-track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda for future tenure consideration and are evaluated on their research/scholarly activity, teaching, and service.
Required
* PhD or ABD in appropriate field.
* Experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
* Evidence of a developing research profile.
Preferred
* Evidence of interdisciplinary experience in subject areas related to the creative industries.
* Familiarity with social and cultural theory.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this position is $84,000 to $100,000. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. This position is contingent on final budget approval.
