I. General Job Description


This position will be primarily responsible for the sale of truck parts and accessories by researching customer requirements, controlling parts inventory, processing invoices and payments, and managing return cores and warranty parts. This position will perform parts delivery and shipping/receiving duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Receive parts into system and place warehouse parts into assigned bin and rack locations.
  • Control inbound and outbound freight billing.
  • Support Parts Delivery Drivers and occasionally deliver or pick-up parts off-site using company vehicles.
  • Pull ordered parts for assigned accounts and deliver on time.
  • Process core and return parts to ensure full credit and recovery.
  • Receive parts, parts warranty, and cores from technician bays/stalls.
  • Monitor environmental compliance and advise Parts Manager of potential storage risks.
  • Know assigned customer accounts by learning names, understanding parts delivery expectations, and reporting to Inside and Outside Sales staff about customer purchasing practices.
  • Respond to sales calls and customer counter visits thoroughly and professionally.
  • Utilize computer business systems and electronic catalogues to research parts information.
  • Provide customer pricing and availability (in-stock or emergency order).
  • Process parts invoices and obtain payment.
  • Process returned items by inspecting items, returning payment, issuing credit, re-shelving items, and returning items to suppliers.
  • Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers.

II. Minimum Job Qualifications

  • 18 years of age.
  • High school graduate, GED, or 1 year of work experience.

III. Desired Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment and qualified MVR abstract.
  • 2 years parts experience.
  • Heavy-duty truck aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently without direct on-site supervision.
  • Basic knowledge off Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organization, communication, and phone skills.

  • Organization: Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
  • Reasoning & Decision Making: Ability to apply common sense in performing job.

  • Mathematics: Ability to count accurately.

V. Physical Demands and Work Environment


The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to site, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach overhead, and climb stairs throughout the Parts warehouse and stand for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally help left and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required. Employee is required to drive a motor vehicle for extended periods of time and travel frequently from the office to customer sites.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high and precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is moderate.
