Most activities of a Commercial CEM at ERI fall into 1 of 4 categories:

Be our Best: As leaders within the Commercial business unit (BU), CEMs help individuals and teams be their best by providing both people and team support across the Commercial Business Unit. This comes in many forms such as creating productive cross-functional teams in partnership with other BU leaders, informing resourcing, and contributing to Commercial team meeting facilitation.

Do our Best: CEMs help our client by driving quality projects in partnership with our project teams, as well as in working with the clients themselves. This can be done through successfully managing projects and programs, and supporting clients.

Increase Capacity: To support ERI business growth and maintenance, CEMs need to be thinking about building relationships with existing clients and developing new business with existing and new clients. This can be done through understanding clients through and between projects, drafting and securing contracts, and informing revenue plans.

Support each Other: We can each be our best selves if we support one another in our professional growth. Our industry is always changing, our company is often evolving, and, as humans, we can use all the help we can get! This can be done through learning continuously, sharing challenges, and contributing to best practices.

The best CEM candidates are:

Growing Leaders. Humble, yet motivated individuals that are servant-leaders. Active listeners, able to take and apply feedback. Willing to make decisions and be accountable for successes and failures. See the big picture, and comfortable communicating and guiding clients towards greater organizational change and evolution.

Experienced Consultants. Understand and appreciate both hard consulting skills (processes, lifecycles, project management, management and strategy consulting frameworks) and people skills (relationship building, engagement, trust, communication).

Technical. Experience in a subset of the following or related fields—engineering, software development, programming, data management and architecture, business intelligence, data mining, operations research, machine learning, analytics delivery.

Effective Listeners, Communicators, and Presenters. You know what to say, you know who you’re talking to, and you work hard to say it the right way. Ability to articulate to clients the value of data science, statistics, and machine learning to their business.

Energetic and Creative. Life-long learners. Eager to grow and stay on top of a rapidly evolving analytics and data science industry.
