ANNOUNCEMENT OF SEARCH
The Department of Surgery/Division of General Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine seeks an academic breast surgical oncologist to join the Division. The section is currently composed of 7 breast surgeons, a Society of Surgical Oncology approved breast surgery fellowship, and has had significant growth in clinical volume and research. The breast cancer program has several sites including the Palo Alto main campus, South Bay Cancer Center, Emeryville, and Pleasanton Stanford site. The goal of the Division is to provide state of the art clinical cancer care, to educate medical students, residents, and fellows, and to conduct research that will impact the management of patient with breast diseases.
This faculty position will be at the Associate or Full Professor level, based 100% at Stanford University in the Clinician Educator line. The candidate must be able to develop an integrated clinical program across all sites, have experience with outreach program in the communities we serve, foster collaborative research across department and institutes, and recruit faculty.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Clinician Educator line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine. The candidate must have an MD or MD/PhD, be board eligible in General Surgery and have an established clinical and research focus in breast cancer. A strong record in clinical research and administrative leadership experience is expected.

Salary Range:
The expected base pay range for this position is:
Clinical Associate Professor: $418,000 - $460,000
Clinical Professor: $497,000 - $539,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
