Job Description:



Duties and Responsibilities:

• Translate project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.


• Design and complete instruments, including microprocessors, power, and analog components.


• Innovatively solve issues, drive project completion on schedule, and work collaboratively with other technical contributors.


• Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing and support.


• Research and implement innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.


• Collaborate with other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions for products.


• Address complex problems with limited direction, contribute to requirements development, propose solutions, and adapt to changing requirements.


• Independently perform complex electronic architectures and designs.


• Provide insights and suggest design modifications based on simulation results.


• Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.


• Manage tasks with multiple engineers and effectively communicate status to project leadership and customers.


• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide constructive feedback.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor, or embedded computing.


• Understanding of design and general computer architecture.


• Ability to write detailed design specifications.


• Computer programming and coding skills.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Strong mathematical skills.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to prioritize tasks.


• Thorough understanding of engineering theories and procedures.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Additional Job Description:


Required Qualifications:

• Experience with schematic capture and board layout.


• Experience integrating and debugging embedded systems.


• Ability to perform circuit simulation using HyperLynx and ANSYS.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Mentor Graphics PCB design flow.


• Experience with Xilinx or Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow.

Location:

• Ability to be present at facilities as needed.

• Current in-scope Top Secret government security clearance is required.
