Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Translate project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Design and complete instruments, including microprocessors, power, and analog components.
Innovatively solve issues, drive project completion on schedule, and work collaboratively with other technical contributors.
Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing and support.
Research and implement innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.
Collaborate with other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions for products.
Address complex problems with limited direction, contribute to requirements development, propose solutions, and adapt to changing requirements.
Independently perform complex electronic architectures and designs.
Provide insights and suggest design modifications based on simulation results.
Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
Manage tasks with multiple engineers and effectively communicate status to project leadership and customers.
Mentor less experienced engineers and provide constructive feedback.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor, or embedded computing.
Understanding of design and general computer architecture.
Ability to write detailed design specifications.
Computer programming and coding skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong mathematical skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Thorough understanding of engineering theories and procedures.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
5-7 years of experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Additional Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
Experience with schematic capture and board layout.
Experience integrating and debugging embedded systems.
Ability to perform circuit simulation using HyperLynx and ANSYS.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Mentor Graphics PCB design flow.
Experience with Xilinx or Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow.
Location:
Ability to be present at facilities as needed.
Security Clearance:
Current in-scope Top Secret government security clearance is required.
