Exxelia is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacturing of electronic components. As we expand to meet growing demand, we are seeking a motivated Buyer to join our team, supporting our dynamic manufacturing operations. This role reports directly to the Master Planner and is ideal for detail-oriented individuals looking to make an impact on operational efficiency and supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
*Manage all activities associated with the purchasing and planning of manufacturing goods and services. This includes:
Preparation, approval, and tracking of purchase orders.
Ensuring purchasing transaction accuracy in Sage MRP system.
Resolving any issues related to specifications, pricing, or delivery with suppliers.
Managing and resolving invoice discrepancies.
*Maintain and improve relationships with current suppliers by:
Engaging in regular, two-way communication.
Negotiating pricing, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Facilitating product validation, first article inspection, incoming inspection, and source inspection processes.
*Collaborate with sourcing team to identify and evaluate new and alternative suppliers for specific commodities and/or custom designs.
*Partner with Production staff to maintain inventory accuracy in Sage MRP system for automatic re-order points.
*Work closely with Quality Assurance to uphold and improve purchasing standards in line with ISO, AS9100, and 13485 regulations.
*Partner with Finance on reporting, inventory management, and other related projects.
*As part of the Operations team, contribute to planning and decision-making to achieve goals in product cost, quality, inventory, and delivery.
Required Skills, Educations, and Experience
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience as a Buyer, Planner, or Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Proven ability to source, select and manage a diverse supply base.
Hands-on experience with an MRP system, inventory management and cost/price analysis.
Working knowledge of manufacturing standards - ISO, 13485, FDA, AS9100.
