This series B biotech company is looking to add leadership to their software engineering team by adding a new director. This is a great role for someone who has led small teams in the past and likes to maintain some hands-on coding work as well.
Role Overview:
You will oversee a growing engineering team and ensure successful product development and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of engineers, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Drive the growth and development of the engineering team.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship.
Contribute hands-on engineering support (approx. 20% of time hands-on coding
Collaborate with other departments to shape product strategy.
Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience in the industry, preferably in biotech and even more preferably in diagnostics
Proven leadership experience, ideally in a director role.
Strong proficiency for experience in python
Experience leading small backend engineering teams, some experience in frontend would be nice
Nice to Have:
Experience in engineering organizations across multiple companies.
Previous experience as a director.
Compensation:
Salary range: 210-230k base
