We are presently seeking an individual who will perform risk management functions, focusing on claims handling and oversight.

As a successful Risk Manager, you will:
  • Review all assigned incoming Incident Reports, obtain clarification and decide how to proceed (i.e. make a claim, subrogate, or other).
  • Maintain Incident Report files; ensure all proper documents are uploaded to the IDB and saved to M Drive as appropriate.
  • Notify President, Executives, PR Firm and HR immediately of concerning incidents; i.e. media involvement, fires, loss of life, etc.
  • Work with adjusters on all assigned open claims providing requested documentation, etc.
  • Coordinate receipt of insurance funds, includes working with lenders and vendors, as needed.
  • Complete Interrogatories and Requests for Documents related to lawsuits handled by our insurance carrier and review with Senior Risk Manager
  • Subrogate against third parties to recover funds for damages incurred.
  • Complete quarterly Loss Run Reporting for Joint Venture Portfolios, as assigned
  • Complete weekly Incident Reporting to Executives and Management, as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Some college accounting coursework preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
  • Prior claims handling experience required.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to multitask and be a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
