We are presently seeking an individual who will perform risk management functions, focusing on claims handling and oversight.
As a successful Risk Manager, you will:
Review all assigned incoming Incident Reports, obtain clarification and decide how to proceed (i.e. make a claim, subrogate, or other).
Maintain Incident Report files; ensure all proper documents are uploaded to the IDB and saved to M Drive as appropriate.
Notify President, Executives, PR Firm and HR immediately of concerning incidents; i.e. media involvement, fires, loss of life, etc.
Work with adjusters on all assigned open claims providing requested documentation, etc.
Coordinate receipt of insurance funds, includes working with lenders and vendors, as needed.
Complete Interrogatories and Requests for Documents related to lawsuits handled by our insurance carrier and review with Senior Risk Manager
Subrogate against third parties to recover funds for damages incurred.
Complete quarterly Loss Run Reporting for Joint Venture Portfolios, as assigned
Complete weekly Incident Reporting to Executives and Management, as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Some college accounting coursework preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
Prior claims handling experience required.
Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with a customer service focus.
Ability to multitask and be a team player in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
