The Senior Supply Quality Engineer will manage and maintain supplier base to assure products and processes internally and externally meet specifications and improve supplier product quality performance resulting from supplier process changes and product resourcing. This position is responsible for reviewing supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents and for the validation activities at Circor suppliers.
Principal Activities:
Practical implementation of Supplier/component systems and procedures for meeting ISO standards
Review and perform routine and qualification audits at supplier locations in accordance with ISO standards. Ensure that modifications are documented, and compliance is demonstrated through objective evidence
Create and verify that systems are in place to ensure appropriate control of incoming product receipt and inspection according to ISO standards
Support /Six Sigma initiatives to remove variability and reduce cost to improve quality and reduce the cost of incoming components as requested.
Develop supplier scorecard covering supplier performance statistics and report results internally and externally to suppliers
Responsible for initiating PPAP Initiation Forms and reviewing Supplier Part Submission Warrant documents (pFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, Process Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (Gage R&R), Dimensional Results (FAIR), Capability Studies, etc.) to ensure compliance to applicable standards ISO 9001 and internal procedures
Responsible for reviewing Supplier Change Requests (SCR) and Supplier Proposed Process Changes (SPPC) to ensure continuous compliance to applicable standards, regulation and internal procedures
Support manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and quality control process validation related activities
Responsible for reviewing design drawings and processes with suppliers to assure inspect-ability and compliance
Work with suppliers to improve product and process quality and assist with correlations studies and inspection plans
Review supplier processes and process validations to assure internal and external processes are adequate to meet specification
Work with suppliers to assist, where necessary, writing and executing protocols and conducting validations as needed
Evaluate and determine reduced or increased inspection plans based on supplier performance and controls
Initiate and assist suppliers with Corrective and Preventive Actions and assure actions are adequately closed
Train and/or assist supplier quality personnel in inspection techniques and the use of new equipment
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management

Working knowledge of inspection metrology and proper application of automated measuring equipment
Excellent working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Ability to create and/or review failure analysis reports and perform dimensional tolerance stack up analyses
Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, and other applicable tools
A thorough knowledge and understanding of the use and application of statistical quality assurance methods
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Experience with PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA's, and problem-solving techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Design, mechanical integrity, process control, project management, assembly, and machining experience preferred
Knowledge of a high mix low volume environment is a plus
Knowledge of Mil Spec Standards
Education & Experience
BS Engineering with 5+ years of experience in a quality related field or a minimum of 10+ years of progressive quality systems and process quality experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on Supplier Quality Development.
Experience of 2+ years
