Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a Mechanical Testing Engineer to support the design, execution, and documentation of mechanical testing activities. This role involves working closely with internal and external customers to ensure test requirements are met efficiently. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to complete testing activities and contribute to ongoing research and development efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the drafting of test requirements.
Authoring test design documents, test procedures, test reports, and supporting documentation.
Conducting data analysis and generating test reports.
Supporting the setup and commissioning of experimental equipment under the guidance of Senior Test Engineers.
Applying nuclear industry best practices to ensure the highest quality in engineering design and identifying process improvements.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of relevant experience in a testing or R&D environment (preferred).
Experience working in a laboratory environment.
Experience with post-processing and documenting experiments.
Knowledge of various types of testing, including:
Research & Development (R&D)
Acceptance Testing
Validation & Qualification Testing
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Safety-conscious mindset with attention to quality and compliance.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction to solve complex problems.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with vibration, strain, and optical testing.
Experience working on large, complex mechanical systems.
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in a research environment.
Strong ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and resolve conflicting objectives.
High degree of trustworthiness, integrity, and teamwork orientation.
