Skybox Datacenters is a rapidly growing data center developer, owner and operator based in Dallas, TX with ongoing projects across North America. Skybox is seeking a new team member to support current and future developments globally. This role presents the unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of development professionals and work with leading construction, architectural and technology partners in the industry. In addition to actively supporting existing development projects, this role is best suited for an individual that desires to help build a program which enables an aggressive pathway for new projects and meaningful growth.

Job Responsibilities

Project Management responsibilities:
  • Manage construction fit-up strategy across multiple projects to be white space ready.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center fit-up infrastructure, including chillers, BMS systems, generators, HVAC equipment, installation, implementation, and general operations standards.
  • Knowledge of Data Center MEP Commissioning process.
  • Manage design team and workflow across multiple projects
  • Organize and maintain project-level records across all active projects
  • Manage ongoing workflow and discussions with project managers, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, utility providers, and municipal authorities
  • Support the pre-construction and construction process and schedule, which includes weekly construction meetings
  • Support development planning and maintain approved budgets from project start through completion
  • Manage handover of the facility to the end client after project completion.
  • Provide Skybox leadership and investor/partners with project summaries on a regular basis
  • Uphold Skybox EHS Plan and intiatives through education, monitoring and reporting with vendors, partners and clients.
  • Up to 40% of work time will be spent traveling, depending on project or company needs.

Development responsibilities:
  • Functionally lead development efforts across at least one project, reporting back up to senior leadership.
  • Support VP Construction with all ongoing development project requirements including:
  • Project budgeting
  • Project scheduling
  • Providing monthly updates on project progress
  • Utility coordination
  • Vendor management
  • Conceptual planning on new projects
  • Communication with municipalities/city officials
  • Program management - managing Skybox standards with design and vendors on each project
  • Contract review and coordination
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project execution
  • Conduct regular site visits, monitor construction activities, and enforce quality control procedures
  • Assist sales team with the development and submittal of build-to-suit, lease and sales proposals to customers

MEP Construction
  • Lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control system (MEP) construction.
  • Work with construction team and lead all components of the build from precon, construction, commissioning, and turnover of the data center.
  • Manage oversight of commissioning process including key partners as need and appropriate.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the progress of MEP systems and review status of work completed during the period covered.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of data center experience, required
  • 5+ years of construction experience, required
  • Technical understanding of data center infrastructure, including MEP systems.
  • Experience managing complex construction budgets
  • Experience working with local municipalities and electric utility providers
  • Experience with project management systems and ability to recommend potential systems for integration into the Skybox platform
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, BlueBeam and Revit
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution with degree in Construction Management / Science, Architecture, Planning or Engineering (electrical or mechanical) not required, but favored
  • Post-graduate education not required, but favored
  • OSHA30 accreditation not required, but favored
