RTI International is seeking Full-Time Institutional Liaisons to work on the National Dementia Workers Study (NDWS). The NDWS was established in Fall 2023 through a cooperative agreement with the National Institute on Aging (NIA) to conduct the first large, national, and comprehensive surveys of the professional dementia care workforce in the U.S. NDWS will conduct annual surveys of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, direct care workers, and other health care professionals in four key practice settings: community clinicians, nursing home staff, assisted living staff, and home care staff.
This collaborative, interdisciplinary endeavor is led by teams at the University of Michigan (U-M) and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), with several other university-based and non-profit partners. RTI conducts data collection for three of the four practice settings- Community Clinicians (CC), Nursing Home (NH) facilities, and Assisted Living (AL) communities
Data collection will include 1,000 AL communities and 1,000 NH facilities and use lessons learned in Wave 1 data collection to streamline the approach to facility recruitment. Because of the large sample size, the study will use a tiered approach to tracing and recruiting that includes Institutional Contactors, Liaisons, and Task Leaders. This structure is designed to actively support recruitment efforts through troubleshooting, skill building, collaboration, and case escalation as needed.
