Job Summary

The City of Fort Collins is looking for a Business Support lll to join our Community Development and Neighborhood Services department. This is a full-time salaried position with the City with an anticipated hiring salary range of $51,000-$62,000 a year! The Business Support lll role is a pivotal position within our organization, aimed at providing essential assistance and coordination to various departments and teams. The role involves ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by managing administrative tasks, facilitating communication, and offering support to various departments. The mission of Community Development and Neighborhood Services is building a community that feels like home for all. The Business Support lll will provide support to internal and external customers, update tracking systems, work collaboratively with other departments, help others succeed in completing special projects, and maintain effective office systems and procedures. This position will also provide responsive customer service with a focus on the many different topics CDNS works within and being available to both internal and external customers. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We are looking for someone with a passion for customer service, and our community to bring their skills in organization, attention to detail and communication to the City!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides responsive customer service to internal and external customers as the entry point for departmental inquiries

  • Coordinates, administers, and monitors progress of department, division, and/or City processes, programs or projects

  • May compose and perform detailed editing of memos, letters, correspondences, documents, and reports

  • Coordinates distribution of information, including DocuSign signatures, and provides assistance to employees, management and/or the general public

  • May coordinate and schedule special events, department meetings, travel schedules and reservations

  • Coordinates and oversees office functions and standard operating procedures

  • Develops, compiles, and maintains files, records, reports, spreadsheets, and databases as requested

  • Purchases and monitors consumption of office supplies and inventory

  • Coordinates and administers special projects as assigned

  • Conducts research, compiles and prepares records or reports

  • Performs technical work associated with various business, financial, or budget processes within the department

  • Acts as liaison to other City offices

  • May provide administrative support to a board or commissions, internal committees, and City Council ad-hoc committees including agendas and minutes, which may include some regular evening meetings

  • May conduct financial transactions, such as accounts payable, invoicing, cash reconciliation, journal entries, claims processing, purchase requisitions, or payroll.

Required Qualifications

MinimumPreferredHigh School Diploma or GED and or functionally related licenses or certificates High school diploma or general education degree (GED)College degree or equivalent work experience. Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees College-level or technical course work in business, finance, marketing, communications, public relations, or office management
