Medela LLC is seeking a Sr. Director of Finance to join our team
  • The Senior Director of Finance Americas will have a day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping to analyze, strategize, and grow the business.
  • The individual in this position will lead and develop the Finance organization, including creating a sense of belonging and purpose, while ensuring that the company's core mission of serving its customers comes first.
  • This role will be the business and sparring partner to EVP Americas and extended executive team by providing strategic financial and market insights which will support delivering on the overall strategic direction of driving profitable growth.
  • The role is key to drive better strategic and operational decision making across the region aligned with the overall strategic direction and with the overall aim to contribute to the overall Medela Group strategic focus and ambition.

Key Experience Needed: Sr. Director of Finance position
  • Master's degree and a minimum of fifteen years' related experience required
  • Experience working in manufacturing/assembly environment required
  • The successful candidate will be a lateral thinker that has a deep understanding of operational finance, analysis and financial modelling capable of creating, developing and collaborating on new ideas and challenges.
  • Strong and demonstrated strategic thinking skills are critical, as well as the ability to think creatively "outside the box" and develop non-traditional solutions to complex business challenges
  • Works to achieve goals while overcoming obstacles and/or planning for contingencies.
  • Shows strong passion and sense of urgency about reaching targets
  • Familiarity and/or working experience across North America preferred
  • Experience working within global, matrix organization preferred
  • Medical device/medtech experience encouraged
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Experience working in an environment with global objectives
  • Strong business partnering and can-do attitude, pragmatic and humble style

Position Responsibilities-Sr. Director of Finance

Strategic financial business partner and financial leadership

-Identify, initiate and track measures for revenue growth, cost down, profitability and value creation improvements

-Finance strategy to support regional strategic focus and overall Group Finance strategic focus. Design, propose and implement financial strategies, guidelines and procedures within broad principles and corporate policies

-Drive financial acumen across the organization and ensure common understanding of the Group and regional finance strategy as well as harmonization of tools and processes

Financial stewardship and management cycle

-Primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of the region including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations

-Monthly and annual financial statement preparation and analysis, in coordination with Group and external auditors as necessary (management and statutory accounts)

-Support decision-making of the region by providing financial analysis and KPIs to advise on areas including product development, market expansion, growth opportunities, and various investments

-Monitor and coordinate the implementation of strategic business plans

Finance transformation and leadership

-Process standardization and identification of efficiency gains (continuous improvements) as well as automation activities

-Drive performance management and focus on delivering results

-Support Group Finance efforts in terms of standardization, ONE finance organization and shift from reactive to proactive mindset

-Create a sense of belonging and purpose driven organization

Governance/compliance and risk management

-Oversees the company's risk management including the general liability and related insurance coverages and risk mitigation

-Own and coordinate the internal control quality within the region

-Monitor and ensure local and Group policies are met as well as state, federal and local requirements and laws are met

-Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
