Position Summary
The Benefit Eligibility Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between FCE, clients, plan participants, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate eligibility enrollment administration. This role involves reviewing enrollment documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong customer service skills and thorough knowledge of benefits processes.
Key Responsibilities
Eligibility Coordination
Oversee the entire eligibility and enrollment lifecycle-from initial enrollment to changes and terminations-for participants in various benefit plans.
Verify participant eligibility by reviewing and updating documentation, forms, and data in the system.
Oversee and manage the enrollment process for renewals, qualifying life events, rate changes and plan revisions.
Fringe Reporting Review & Processing
Coordinate fringe reporting processes, ensuring clients submit accurate and timely information.
Work with the clients and/or internal teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to fringe benefit data.
Client Communication
Respond to inquiries from clients, participants, and internal team members regarding eligibility requirements, statuses, and deadlines.
Ensure clear, concise, and professional communication to facilitate accurate understanding and timely resolution of issues.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of participant eligibility in compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
Stay up to date on current regulations and guidelines, ensuring that eligibility procedures and documentation adhere to legal standards.
Process Monitoring & Improvement
Collaborate with the Data Processing Analyst and other team members to identify data inconsistencies and improve workflows.
Recommend process enhancements to streamline eligibility determination and reduce manual errors.
Training & Support
Assist new hires and other colleagues in understanding eligibility processes, regulations, and best practices.
Conduct educational sessions for plan sponsors and participants about eligibility rules and updates as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 2+years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or a related areas.
Knowledge
Familiarity with ERISA, HIPAA, and other relevant benefits regulations.
Basic understanding of various benefit plan types (e.g., medical, dental, retirement).
Soft Skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
