The Manager - Events and Membership Engagement (the "Manager") is a position that provides services to members of the Plumbing and Mechanical Sheet Metal Contractors' Alliance ("PMSMCA"), the Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Association of Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. ("PMC"), the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' Association of Milwaukee, Inc. ("SMACCA Milwaukee"). Together, the PMC, SMACCA Milwaukee, and PMSMCA are referred to herein as the "Alliance" a not-for-profit trade association, and its related associations and industry funds.
As a member, full-time, of the staff, the Manager must have the ability to lead projects and programs, have a can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in to help with any tasks necessary to get the job done.
This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Membership Engagement and Workforce Development.
This position requires attendance at off-site member events and meetings, so access to reliable transportation is a must.
Responsibilities
Event Planning
Manages the planning and production of all member events and educational programs. The Manager will create and manage the working assignments and budget for these events, create timeline, and coordinate said events comprehensively. This includes:
Developing graphics, communications, marketing, and text for program flyers and promotional materials
Working directly with third party vendors on venue rental, catering, entertainment, etc.
Preparing and maintaining registration and attendance before and during events.
Communicate registration and attendance information to other staff for billing purposes.
Making address labels for mailings promoting the events
Making name tags, signage, and promotional materials for events
Setting up and staffing registration table on the day of each event
Working with the Assistant Director of Finance and Operations on financial impacts for events being mindful of budget considerations.
Post-event surveying and data collections
Evaluation of post event data to examine changes for future events
Communications and Marketing
As needed and directed by upper-management, supports and develops traditional and online communications - including newsletters, podcasts, video recording, social media, digital communication, etc. - with members and others outside the organization.
Works with the Executive Director and Asst. Director of Membership Engagement and Workforce Development on identifying and maintaining new membership software platforms that create cleaner and more modern event registration and promotion capability.
Office/Team
Responsible for copying, scanning, and preparing outgoing mailings (invitations, reminders, contract updates, etc.)
Works with Assistant Director of Membership Engagement and Workforce Development on updating and maintaining membership records, databases, and contact lists, and assists with onboarding of new Association members
Creates and Manages Alliance Membership Directory - online updates actively and printed updated every 18-24 months.
Coordinates awards, plaques, thank you notes, and other recognitions of service to the Association
Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Finance and Operations on the collection of materials from various municipalities for consistent updating of the web-based Plumbing Inspectors' handbook
Assists with data entry, data management, and filing.
Assists in meeting coordination and reminders for various Boards and Committees.
Attends and maintains minutes of board of directors and industry fund meetings.
Prepares Monthly Team Meeting Materials and Calendar
Other tasks as assigned

This is an exempt (salaried) full-time position.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong organizational, hospitality, and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills, including experience with the Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
Ability to follow directions, work independently to complete projects accurately, on time, and with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to pitch in to help with any tasks necessary to get the job done.
This position requires attendance at off-site member events and meetings, so access to reliable transportation is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study preferred.
Experience in event planning, and membership services.
