What Will Your Job Look Like:
The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for hiring, training and supervising a team of Travel Trainers and Transit Coordinators within the travel training program. The Assistant Program Manager will ensure compliance with all travel training related tasks, documentation, and reporting under the contract. This role will also provide back-up coverage on travel training duties, including client assessment, field training and follow-up.

What you’ll do:
Provide daily guidance and support to direct reports
Partner with the Training team to create new hire orientation and training materials
Ensure full compliance with the contract including documentation and reporting
Provide initial orientation and training to new staff members
Provide ongoing training and support, in the field and in the classroom
Ensure collaboration within all areas of the operation
Ensure all Travel Training documentation is up to date on paper and in an electronic system
Provide backup coverage of travel training duties including client assessment, field training and follow-up
Conduct group training
Conduct outreach to community organizations and hold information sessions and presentations
Act as liaison between the Travel Training department and Valley Metro
Respond to any Travel Training issues or complaints and properly document response
Build rapport and communicate with the family and/or the natural support network of the individual
Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with staff, participants and their caregivers
Participate in internal and external (public) meetings as required
Provide high quality customer service
Must conform to MTM’s HIPAA standards
Create documents, work plans, and accurate reports in a timely manner, as needed
Review service delivery to ensure that the most appropriate and effective abilities assessments are performed
Evaluate assessments and determinations with the assessment staff to ensure accurate results
Respond to any ADA eligibility or complaints and properly document response
Learn and understand all aspects of the contracted program and serve as the team’s Subject Matter Expert, both locally and externally
Act as a mentor to new employees and assist with the development of team members
Maintain up-to -date knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Maintain working knowledge and abilities of MTM and Client software
Input information into MTM Access and other software as appropriate
Complete all necessary reports and paperwork
Assist with Quality Assurance
Conduct one-on-one in-person interviews to assess mobility capabilities as needed
Conduct physical and/or cognitive functional assessments as needed
Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Rehabilitation, Ancillary Health Care Profession, Business or a related field
Willing to accept relevant experience and specialized certifications in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree depending upon contract specifications (Certifications can include: COTA, OT, PT)
3+ years of previous leadership or supervisory experience
1+ years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities
1+ year experience conducting assessments, or travel training
Experience and knowledge with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and sensitivity to issues relating to people with disabilities and older adults
Experience conducting information-gathering relating to ADA Paratransit eligibility
Depending upon location, may be required to possess a valid driver’s license
Experience interviewing and conducting ongoing assessment of skills
Skills:
Knowledge of ADA regulations and sensitivity to issues relating to people with disabilities and older adults
Demonstrated experience in interviewing and providing ongoing assessment of customers with various types of disabilities
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Experience working with disability and/or community advocacy organizations
Strong interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships
Intermediate level of proficiency or above with Microsoft Office Suite products
Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees, external and internal stakeholders, customers and vendors
Ability to work flexible hours in all weather conditions
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

Min Salary: $65,440/annually
Max Salary: $98,160/annually
