The Director of Sales will be responsible for top-line revenue generation of a portfolio of 20-30 hotels based on region assigned. They will partner with the VP of Sales and RVP of the region to drive additional revenues to hotels based on needs in the hotels/markets they are assigned. They will analyze local markets for new potential clients, assess competitor activity, and arrange site visits to initiate new sales. This role will require boots-on-the-ground sales in markets 70% of the time, visiting construction sites, companies, hospitals, housing assistance programs, universities, apartments, and any other areas uncovered for potential business. In addition, the regional director of sales will prepare monthly action plans/strategies and create advertising campaigns for social media and correspondence. They will also be assigned quarterly room revenue booking goals and expected to meet or exceed stated revenue goals. The regional director of sales networks and prospects for new clients while also retaining current customers through long-term relationships and driving repeat business. This position requires a thorough understanding of hotel revenue management as well as exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Essential Functions:
Leads the sales efforts and maximizes revenue through the development, implementation and execution of sales/revenue strategies agreed to with VP of Sales, RVP and Revenue manager.
Establish and grow our market share by developing and maintaining relationships with major companies, groups and local clients.
Research, develops and maintains monthly action plan for new targets of prospects who meet our goals of ESSOCC, volume production for individual hotels and across the J&P Portfolio of hotels. Accurate weekly/monthly log of sales activities submitted to VP of Sales.
Create action plans, sales blitz and lead/assist for existing hotels and new hotels openings in your assigned market.
Position requires extensive travel including weekends and multiple weeks in a market.
RDOS will follow up on leads GMs enter into Sales Lead Tracker (SLT) to generate new business, close deals, and increase revenue by cold calling, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking.
RDOS will maintain Facebook pages, marketplace listings for all hotels in their region and other social media avenues.
Identify new business leads by examining local market trends and competitive set business in markets.
Maintains, upholds and enforces the standards and policies of J&P asset management.
Supports property General Managers with achieving the hotel's overall sales goals.
Perform all other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, and bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
Must have previous multi property sales experience working in the hospitality industry
10 or more years of experience in sales management or in a leadership role in the sales department, preferably in hospitality,
Ability to operate independently, with minimal direction and exceptional support
Understands how to communicate, negotiate, and network effectively
Good organization, record keeping and time management skills

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Workdays of 10 hours a day or more
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
