What You Will Contribute:
Are you ready to elevate quality and innovation in a dynamic environment? Step into the role of Senior Quality Electronics Engineer (Site). The Site - Senior Quality Engineer will support Defining, Improving, and Maintaining Badger Meter's quality systems and providing technical direction ensuring the effective coordination and execution of projects as they relate to the quality of our processes, services, and products.
This role will work heavily with our electronics products and must have experience with IPC or related PCBA industry standards. We are open to Electrical engineers who are looking to get into Quality Engineering.
This role is critical in supporting all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environmental, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and metrics. This includes the ability to work with internal and external customers to support Badger Meter's corporate values and goals.
Job Duties:
Establish and foster key relationships throughout the organization enabling effective performance to execute on commitments and deliver results while driving critical issues simultaneously.
Maintain a safe working environment (within the department and across the sites).
Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation methodologies for electronic Components, Subassemblies, Cables, and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA).
Establish control plans and acceptance protocols in accordance to IPC-A-610/620 and IPC-J-STD.
Support training needs for IPC-A-610/620, IPC-J-STD, and ANSI/ESD S20.20 as required.
Support New Product Development (NPD) teams, collaborate with cross functional (often multi-site) teams to identify, schedule, and execute all quality related deliverables.
Support NCMR/CAR/CAPA programs: provide timely disposition of non-conformances and properly identifying containment, root cause, corrective/preventive actions, verification activities, and follow up to assess effectiveness.
Participate in Internal Audit Program
Support SQDCE metric development and collaborate cross functionally within a multi-site environment.
Identify opportunities for the improvement of quality procedures, product designs, manufacturing processes, and equipment. Continually drive to improve product uniformity while eliminating/minimizing non-conformances.
Provide technical guidance to create, review, and improve Badger Meter quality acceptance standards (QAS). Identify key industry standards and leverage them to drive uniformity within Badger Meter practices.
Support training needs with APQP, problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, process capability, measurement system analysis, and other data analytic techniques. Preferred problem-solving techniques; 8-Step, 8D, and/or A3
Mentor site quality teams to develop skills and expand capabilities
Maintain professional level and technical skills through memberships in technical and professional societies, and by attending appropriate courses and seminars.
Up to 20% travel required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred
5+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related role desired.
