What You Will Contribute:




We are looking for a senior level Quality Systems Engineer (Group) at our Milwaukee Headquarters! Are you a seasoned quality professional with a passion for data analytics? Do you have the drive to define, improve, and maintain cutting-edge quality systems that shape the future of our products and services? This role will have a heavy focus on creating quality metrics and standardizing and implementing across multiple sites. This role can be located onsite either in our Milwaukee or Racine facility.


In this pivotal role, you'll be at the heart of our mission, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and environmental sustainability. As a key player in our U.S. and Foreign Operations, you'll provide technical direction and support continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with internal and external customers to uphold Badger Meter's core values.

With your expertise in process development, data analytics, and quality systems, you'll mentor and lead our teams to new heights of performance and excellence.

Job Duties:



  • Establish and foster key relationships throughout the organization enabling effective performance to execute on commitments, deliver results, and drive critical issues simultaneously.


  • Maintain a safe working environment (within the department and across sites).


  • Establish a Data Analytics steering committee, leverage key users to develop new tools and/or metrics.


  • Within the context of Quality Data Analytics, establish a knowledge transfer strategy that creates "how to" manuals for users and developers, support the transition of administrative tasks like monthly and quarterly reports.


  • Support SQDCE metric development and collaborate cross functionally within a multi-site environment.


  • Support New Product Development (NPD) teams to identify, schedule, and execute all quality related deliverables.


  • Provide launch/post launch data analytics ensuring quality system preparedness of people, process, and systems.


  • Provide Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) guidance to NPD, Group, and Site teams.


  • Define and Improve NPD processes and establish NPD launch metrics.


  • Provide technical guidance to create, review, and improve Badger Meter quality acceptance standards (QAS).


  • Identify key industry standards and leverage them to drive uniformity within Badger Meter practices.


  • Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities that drive product and process standardization while eliminating and/or minimizing non-conformances.


  • Support inspection/test methodologies that demonstrate our capability of meeting/exceeding quality requirements.


  • Track quality performance through the analysis of established and new metrics


  • Provide timely disposition of non-conformances and assess the effectiveness of corrective/preventive actions.


  • Lead training needs with APQP, problem-solving, root cause analysis, process capability, measurement system analysis, and other data analytic techniques.


  • Mentor group and site quality teams to develop skills and expand capabilities.


  • Sporadic travel as needed up to 25% internationally and domestically (approx 1x a quarter)





Education and Experience:



  • 5+ years of preferred experience in Process Development, Data Analytics, Quality etc.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field





Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence Tools


  • Lean Six Sigma practitioner, Black Belt certification preferred


  • Strong Project Management Skills, certification preferred


  • Proficiency with MS Office and related products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)


  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)


  • Proficiency with Statistical Process Techniques, Failure Analysis, and Process Validation.


  • Advanced data analytic techniques utilizing Excel, Minitab, MicroStrategy, Power-BI, SQL


  • Knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100)

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing/office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
