ITS, LLC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Senior Network Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance for a 24/7 support capacity and supervision at the site of Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. As a Senior Network Engineer you will design, implement, maintain, and optimize an organization's network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance, while also providing technical leadership and mentorship
Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Evaluate technologies and designs in relation to the critical infrastructure and service needs for external customers.
Implement solutions that support customer visions and objectives.
Participate in inter-program initiatives and discussions to resolve technical challenges.
In depth implementation and troubleshooting experience of IP networks.
Define and implement best practices for network and capacity management.
Identify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimization.
Routinely perform proof of concepts and service trials while documenting system integration
The Senior Network Engineer shall oversee the ticketing capabilities within the system to track and close all networking issues regarding system failures.
The Senior Network Engineer shall continuously observe delivered dashboards, execute procedures that have been approved by the Government, and notifying Tier 2 and 3 teams of unusual behavior which could eventually lead to system failure or degradations in network connectivity in support of monthly and annual system reports.
The Senior Network Engineer shall coordinate and assist in the execution of additional network connectivity checks to validate all network failures and to further identify the source of failed connection.
The Senior Network Engineer should oversee monitoring of networking metrics to identify network congestion or other aspects of network degradation and document findings in order to improve overall System functionality and report to the appropriate Government personnel.
The Senior Network Engineer shall continuously observe and analyze the workflow of metrics to further identify root causes to support reduction in cost, latency, and increased throughput quarterly
The Senior Network Engineer shall notify crew commanders or lead operators when network capabilities are restored or improved to nominal capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks.
• Strong enterprise network troubleshooting (Multicast, Layer 2, Cisco IOS(s), IP routing [BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and EIGRP], HSRP and physical layer issues (Ethernet, Optical, TDM)).
• Experience with Agile development processes.
• Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications.
• Communication Systems planning with DISA and other GOVT TACLANE providers.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
Clearance Requirement:
TS/SCI Clearance Required with possibility of SAP/SAR in future needs
