Position Summary:
Leads, manages, and monitors inventory levels, on-time shipment of finished goods, warehousing/shipping of goods, and the procurement, receipt, and storage of raw materials. Coordinates production/planning activities to ensure new products are launched in a timely and cost-effective manner. Assists with the development of, departmental plans, budgets, and master production schedule by utilizing input from sales forecast customer demand, material availability, capacity planning and management direction. Assures compliance with Materials Department requirements, long-term strategies, company, and customer standards. Supervises, coordinates, provides strategy direction, and reviews project work of staff consisting of primarily exempt professional or leadership personnel. Assumes responsibility for establishing and achieving inventory turn goals, minimization of obsolete inventory, et cetera.Recommends disposition within established guidelines. Champions projects to improve cost, quality, and delivery. Performs other duties as necessary in support of departmental goals.
Position Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities: Develops, manages, and maintains departmental plans, budgets, and master production schedule by utilizing input from sales forecast customer demand, material availability, capacity planning to ensure management goals and objectives are met. Plans, prepares, and controls annual expense and capital budget in compliance with business plan. Provides input for production planning function. Assumes responsibility for 3-month sales and production plan.
Assures compliance with Materials Department requirements, long-term strategies, company and customer standards. Sets future direction for departmental needs based on customer requirements.
Provides operational managerial leadership for functional department. Supervises, coordinates, provides strategy direction, and reviews project work of staff consisting of primarily exempt professional or leadership personnel.
Champions projects to improve cost, quality, and delivery. Develops, implements, new and/or existing systems and procedures associated in respective area. Researches industry trends and new and existing technologies, processes, etc. in order to make effective, knowledgeable business decisions.
Establishes inventory objectives and assumes responsibility for inventory turns (stock rotation). Reviews, identifies, and minimizes obsolete inventory. Recommends disposition within established guidelines.
Directs, promotes and reviews programs relating to safety, quality and productivity in the division and recommends changes where desirable. Performs regular workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of departmental goals.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree including four years' experience in related field including production material planning and scheduling and Just-In-Time (JIT) concepts, principles, and techniques; or equivalent. Must be certified in production inventory management. Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Eight years diverse professional and managerial experience including financial/budget responsibility, management leadership, and strategic decision making/leadership.
Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills in order to perform job duties independently and make decisions which meet company goals and objectives. Must be able to independently analyze data and determine appropriate course of action.
Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication/negotiation skills in order to perform job duties in an appropriate manner. Must be able to independently research and recommend new processes, technology enhancements, etc.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and changing priorities.
