A Day in the Life of the VP of Sales
As the VP of Sales at MeterNet, you'll be responsible for leading the company's sales strategy and growing their business development team. You will partner closely with the CEO and executive team to identify new market opportunities and drive measurable growth across multiple territories. This is a key leadership role that directly contributes to MeterNet's mission of helping communities conserve water and energy. Your leadership and expertise will help shape the future of the company while making a tangible impact on the environment.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and execute a growth strategy in partnership with the CEO and executive team
Establish outreach strategies to build new relationships with builders, property managers, plumbers, and subcontractors
Identify and evaluate opportunities for geographic expansion into new markets
Build and refine a scalable sales structure and process
Hire, train, and manage a team of high-performing sales representatives
Drive sales volume and improve pipeline conversion rates by setting and achieving sales targets
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
Mentor and develop direct reports by encouraging open communication and continuous improvement
Promote a collaborative, high-performance culture within the sales team
Requirements and Qualifications:
Strong leadership experience, including managing a sales team across multiple regions
Ability to build and implement sales strategies and processes
Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales team targets
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with clients and internal teams
Experience in hiring, training, and developing sales talent
Strategic thinker with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
