Position Type: Administrative Staff Classification Title: Administrative Staff Position Title: Program Assistant, Center for Global Programs Position Number: TBD Pay Grade Level: CSS 5 Salary: $23.00 - $24.00 an hour Department: Provost's Office Posting Number: S 121301447 Full or Part Time: Full Time FTE: 1 Basic Function: The role serves as the program assistant in key areas of the Center for Global Programs (CfGP), primarily the Global Living Community, but also Off-Campus Study, International Student Support, and the Multilingual Learning Office; manages and creates content for social media platforms and assists in maintaining the Center's website; partners with key offices such as the Center for Belonging and Inclusion, the Lisska Center for Scholarly Engagement, the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration, and Residential Communities; engages and builds community with the international student population on campus; connects with student organizations; supports the mission of the Center for Global Programs to develop an appreciation of different cultures, perspectives, and world-views, and cultivates culturally-competent leaders while supporting students in various global learning endeavors. Essential Job Functions: -Assist in the development and execution of programming for the Global Learning Community (GLC); -Assist with planning and implementation of various other CfGP programs including international student arrivals and the Off-Campus Study Fall Fair, as well as implementation and assessment of engaging campus events that contribute to the cultivation of global awareness and cross-cultural understanding; -Assist international students with cultural transitions and/or identifying campus resources related to their academic and personal well-being; -Develop and foster collaborative partnerships that support cross-cultural programming, including but not limited to: academic departments, student organizations, the Lisska Center for Scholarly Engagement, the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration, the Center for Belonging and Inclusion, CLIC, and Residential Communities; -Maintain a dynamic office website; -Conceptualize and maintain a dynamic social media presence with interactive media to include video editing; -Promote office events in conjunction with CfGP interns and present periodically to student organizations and other meetings/classes on the resources and opportunities that the CfGP provides Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in any field; ability to accommodate extended work hours, including evening and weekend work hours. An interest and curiosity in cultural exchange, public diplomacy, international education, and working with and learning from people from around the world. Preferred Qualifications: Strong writing and communication skills, particularly with a variety of constituents (students, faculty, staff, external organizations); demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail; strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; social media experience; interest in working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and ability to bring a flexible, openminded, "no task is too small" mentality.
