The famous Caribe Hilton is looking for their nextAccounting Manager.
The Caribe Hilton has welcomed guests since 1949 and has 17 acres of tropical landscaping, nine restaurants, island-inspired rooms, spa, and oceanfront pool complex, all right on the beach. Ideal Candidate will have at least 5 years of Accounting and Purchasing and 2 hours of Management experience, be reliable, adaptable and have high volume experience, computer knowledge and the willingness to grow and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Pattern: Candidate will mostly work a 8:30am - 5:00pm shift from Monday to Friday. Some Weekends and Holidays are required.
Pay Rate: $48,000 per year

What will I be doing?
As Purchasing / Accounting Manager, you will work with suppliers to negotiate contracts, purchase required goods, and keep accurate records of transactions, trends, and performance with vendors. Also, you will o versee and perform activities to support General accounting functions, accurate reports and account management. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Hire, supervise, train, coach, counsel and discipline accounting and purchasing staff to ensure smooth operation of all aspects of the department.
Manage the RFP and bid process. Obtain bids from vendors according to the specifications set by the standards and/or department head. Determine the best possible price for the desired items and communicate with department management.
Schedule deliveries of items and monitor the quality of products received to ensure they meet the hotel's established standards and operational needs as outlined by each department.
Ensure all regional and corporate purchasing programs, policies and procedures are met.
Manage vendors statements of account to ensure balances are kept current and accurate AP processes are in place.
Identify, resolve and close open purchase orders older than 60-90 days.
Ensure the filing and maintenance of all purchase orders.
Monitor and audit month-end inventories.
Forecast operational needs and evaluate best opportunities with department managers.
Participate in operational hotel meetings.
Coordinate with shared services center and third-party service providers (outsourcing provider, auditors, state and local tax authorities, banks) to ensure all necessary information is compiled, reviewed, and approved
Assist in maintaining and auditing internal financial controls (cash handling, inventories, capital expenditure, personnel time records, etc.)
Assist with maintaining adequate internal control over revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities of the hotel.
Prepare month end entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Performs other accounting procedures and duties as assigned by Manager.
Keep and maintain a record of active contracts, licenses and permits.
Participate in special projects, team training and development of junior team members, performance management, and evaluations of the team.
Work with Finance Director to draft annual budget
Prepare the month end accounts reports in an accurate and timely manner
Execute on tasks/requests as instructed by the Hotel Management

Previous experience within the hotel/leisure sector
Previous experience in a similar role
Relevant degree, in Finance/Accounting or related business discipline, from an academic institution
