A global manufacturer of automotive interior components is seeking a motivated Quality Engineer to join their facility in the Jackson, TN area. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3 years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably in the automotive or other manufacturing industries. This is a full-time and direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k) matching.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities Include:
Hands-on product quality inspection and assurance, root cause analysis, corrective action, etc.
Identify and resolve issues in product design, testing, and production
Ensure that products and manufacturing processes are meeting customer, industry, and governmental standards; plan and execute process and quality audits
Communicate with clients to gather accurate data such as parts issues, cast/assembly dates, and any other data relevant to client needs
Creation of quality documentation (PPAP, APQP, etc.)
Supervising and training of quality and production associates as needed
Act as point of contact for customers' quality issues, questions, etc.
Attend and/or lead team and customer meetings as needed
Other duties as assigned
Quality Engineer Requirements Include:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred, OR high school degree and minimum of four years' equivalent work experience
Minimum 1-3 years' experience as a Quality Engineer or in a quality-adjacent role (including internships, co-ops, etc.), preferably within the automotive industry
Familiarity with PPAP, APQP documentation, ISO standards, 8D/ 5 Whys, etc.
Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving
Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
