Position Summary
The IT Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and securing the company's cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This position will work closely with the Director of IT to implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions. Key responsibilities include cloud infrastructure management, Google Workspace administration, network and endpoint management, cybersecurity operations, and compliance support.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Google Workspace Administration
Administer and optimize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) resources, including VMs, databases, and networking.
Implement IAM policies and security controls within the cloud environment.
Oversee Google Workspace administration, ensuring optimal security and compliance settings.
Systems & Network Administration
Manage Windows and Linux servers, including updates, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Configure and support enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs.
Ensure secure and stable remote access solutions for a hybrid workforce.
Endpoint & Device Management
Deploy and manage macOS and iOS devices using an MDM platform.
Enforce security policies across all endpoints and manage IT asset inventory.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Monitor system logs and alerts to detect and respond to security threats.
Assist in ISO 27001 and HIPAA compliance initiatives.
Conduct vulnerability scans and support remediation efforts.
Automation & IT Operations Optimization
Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate IT tasks and improve efficiency.
Maintain thorough documentation of IT systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
7+ years of experience in IT systems administration, cloud computing, and network management.
Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Workspace Administration, and SaaS integrations.
Strong knowledge of networking (VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls) and server administration (Linux & Windows).
Experience managing macOS and iOS devices with an MDM platform.
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC 2), and security tools.
Strong problem-solving, automation, and documentation skills.
