ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY
Provide financial and operational support to multiple sites. This role will have a direct impact to the success of your sites and will include multiple reporting requirements.
Ownership of the monthly financial results for your sites; which includes ensuring all revenue and expense lines are correctly coded with accurate amounts, reviewing the results with each site's management team, providing commentary for material variances to budget and prior periods and recommendations on how to improve results going forward.
Financial ownership of all customer contracts within your sites to ensure that the customer is being fully and accurately billed for all contractual obligations. This includes annual price reviews, monitoring and adjusting to contractual price volume reductions and capital recovery thresholds.
Responsible for customer approval/purchase orders on all special billing (overtime, repair charges, shift changes, storage and freight charges, trials and other special billings) and to provide this information to accounts receivable in an accurate and timely manner for invoicing.
Ensure that all inventory write-offs have been approved by the customer prior to destroying and then to provide all needed information to accounts receivable in an accurate and timely manner for invoicing.
Development of annual budgets, monthly rolling forecasts, investment proposals and strategic plans for each site's operations. This will entail working closely with site personnel and operations.
Partner with each site's management team on all decisions that have a material financial impact on the operations of that site. Monitor and challenge all questionable financial activity and spends with the site's management team and escalate all unresolved financial issues to your manager.
Weekly labor and metric reporting to site and upper management, including working with each site to improve labor efficiencies and develop plans to deal with labor issues.
Review and analyze inventory and customer profitability/margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analysis and profitability.
Work as a partner with each site's management team to drive continuous financial improvement from cost saving, cost avoidance and additional profit generating opportunities. Expectation is to have a minimum of five financial continuous improvement tasks active at all times.
Assist with external and internal audits.
General ledger account reconciliations.
Monthly booking reconciliation of contract labor and special billing accruals.
Assist with resolving all purchase receipt/costing issues.
Establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
25% to 30% travel to the sites.
Other duties which may be assigned by your manager.
QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Minimum Experience
Minimum of 2-10 solid years of plant accounting in a manufacturing environment and/or multiple years' experience in a corporate controllership with multi plant responsibility. Steady path of progressive responsibility.
Minimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Must have excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles.
High proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables.
Experience with Nulogy WMS/MRP software a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate results and issues to manufacturing personnel and leadership teams.
Critical thinking of issues presented to the business.
Experience with Microsoft D365 Financial software a plus
