Opal's Oysters, a vibrant new coastal cuisine concept from Black Family Hospitality (the creators of Terry Black's Barbecue), is seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager to join our team in Waco, Texas. We're building a team dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences and embodying the spirit of balmy summer good times.

As the Restaurant Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in driving our success by ensuring smooth daily operations and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing our team while upholding the highest standards of food quality, service, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership & Development: Train, coach, and mentor restaurant staff, ensuring they are equipped to deliver outstanding service. Supervise staff schedules, monitor performance, and conduct timely and constructive coaching/disciplinary meetings, including handling employee terminations in accordance with company policy.
  • Guest Experience: Prioritize guest satisfaction by ensuring all aspects of the dining experience meet our standards. Proactively address guest concerns and resolve issues diplomatically and courteously.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee food preparation, ensuring adherence to all health, safety, food handling, and hygiene regulations. Conduct daily inspections of the restaurant and equipment to maintain these standards. Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
  • Performance Management: Contribute to the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) by effectively incorporating business trends and customer feedback into staff training and operational improvements.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Assistant Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Deep understanding of restaurant operations, including food safety, guest service, and team management.
  • Ability to handle guest concerns and resolve issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of alcoholic beverage regulations.
  • Passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.
