SCOPE:
This Director of Fuel Supply is responsible for Christensen's Fuel Strategy & Business Planning, Supply Economics, Pricing Support, and Fuel Compliance Management.
The role is responsible for overseeing the company's fuel procurement and trading. This includes sourcing fuel products, managing inventory levels, executing trading strategies, optimizing risk management, and pursuing market opportunities.
SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES & DELIVERABLES
Strategy & Business Planning
Develop and implement comprehensive supply and trading strategies aligned with company goals, considering market trends, price volatility, and risk management.
Identify potential new markets and trading opportunities to expand business reach.
Analyze market dynamics to assess risk and implement hedging strategies to mitigate risk.
Propose, execute, and validate opportunities to lower cost of goods through diversification of supply methodology including, but not limited to, bulk inventory shipped to market (e.g., pipeline, rail, barge, etc.), trading, hedging, blending, and spot purchases.
Preserve value of bulk refined products purchases and stored inventory through financial/paper trading.
Forecast supply, demand, and market dynamics to capture opportunities and mitigate risk.
Develop and implement short and long-term fuel supply strategies within multiple geographies that are aligned with company strategic objectives.
Analyze market supply and demand; build and maintain forecasting models that help identify trading/arbitrage opportunities including logistics/freight optimization and product blending
Supply Economics
Oversee risk management/hedging programs
Interpret market information to establish and manage inventory positions and product slate to generate greatest return on capital employed
Develop supply acquisition capabilities through building industry networks and supplier relationships.
Manage inventories to ensure adequate supply with minimal overstock.
Propose, execute, and validate opportunities to lower cost of goods through diversification of supply methodology including, but not limited to, bulk inventory shipped to market (e.g., pipeline, rail, barge, etc.), trading, hedging, blending, and spot purchases.
Preserve value of bulk refined products purchases and stored inventory through financial/paper trading.
Oversee scheduling of pipeline and rail deliveries optimizing pipeline usage.
Maintain market intelligence and subject matter expertise in refined fuels markets, and fuel supply principles to inform and optimize supply capabilities.
Pricing Support
Negotiate contract terms with suppliers and customers, ensuring favorable pricing and delivery conditions.
Continuous improvement to optimize laid-in costs of refined products.
Provide support and consultation on customer bids, contracts, and opportunities
Fuel Compliance Management
Ensure fuels related legal, regulatory, compliance, and reporting requirements are met.
Track clean fuels and climate commitment developments and maintain effective relationships to ensure company compliance.
Identify new opportunities arising from emerging policy.
Manage climate and carbon policy requirements and reporting.
Evaluate supply and demand dynamics as well as fuel related policies and legislation that affects companies supply strategy.
Ensure daily RIN tracking and required RIN reporting & trading is executed

Proven experience with fuel trading and contract negotiation.
