Job Summary
This position plays a crucial role in coordinating and overseeing live online educational sessions. This position involves extensive planning, collaboration with the course management team, supervising instructional staff, and ensuring the effective operation of live sessions. Duties & Responsibilities
Live Session Coordination and Planning
Forecast and plan for upcoming live session requirements.
Collaborate with the course management team for seamless execution.
Manage instructional staff, including Synchronous Course Facilitators and Assistants.
Proactively identify and resolve issues related to live sessions.
Document and refine operational processes for live sessions.
Supervision and Mentoring
Oversee live session facilitation, maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
Supervise, mentor, and manage the performance of staff and student workers.
Conduct one-on-one meetings and lead team meetings to encourage collaboration and standardize processes.
Live Session Preparation & Facilitation
Prepare for and oversee the execution of live sessions.
Ensure the accessibility and quality of teaching materials.
Facilitate online classes, webinars, and events.
Collaborate with faculty and studio personnel for session preparation.
Learning Experience Analysis
Observe and evaluate live sessions based on established protocols.
Analyze performance data for continuous improvement.
Log and address technical and pedagogical issues.
Training
Train faculty and staff in using web conferencing technology.
Onboard and train new staff and student workers.
Other Duties
Engage in professional development.
Perform additional tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of two years' experience with online conferencing software and one year of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in a related field.
Experience: Experience in higher education or corporate customer service, and two years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong customer support skills, excellent communication, time management, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of best practices in training and large-scale course support, familiarity with business education, and ability to work with remote collaborators.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after search close date. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience while also considering internal equity. The budget salary for this position is $66,000 to $68,000. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
Hybrid work options may be available for this position; however, must be available to be onsite at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus based on operational needs.
