Nashville Post, Editor in chief job description and responsibilities
Established in 2000, the Nashville Post is a premier subscriber-based news publication. We deliver breaking business, health care, political, real estate and sports news online at nashvillepost.com and twice daily through our email newsletters. Our print magazine, published one to three times a year, offers more feature and long-form pieces. The Nashville Post also periodically produces events including the In Charge leadership luncheon, the Most Powerful Women luncheon, and political candidate forums.
The Job:
FW Publishing is looking for a highly motivated editor-in-chief. Working closely with our publisher and president, our editor is responsible for leading the Nashville Post's small but strong editorial team. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader who will guide our reporting, shape editorial strategy and maintain the highest standards of quality and integrity while serving as the face of the publication.
The editor and chief will be tasked with writing an average of one business story per day, editing the bulk of roughly eight news briefs per day, building and sending two daily newsletters, and leading the production of the magazines.
This position also plays a central role in growing awareness, driving engagement and encouraging reader loyalty. We are looking to grow both readership and subscribers, and to expand our coverage areas. The ideal candidate has experience with subscriber growth.
The ideal candidate will have professional experience in leading an editorial team, overseeing reporting across multiple beats. We're seeking a leader who's creative, bold and analytical, with extensive experience in a newsroom. Our editor will also collaborate with our sister publications - the Nashville Scene, Nfocus, and WIlliamson Scene..
This position is full-time, in-office, and based in Nashville, Tenn.
