Summary

As an Event Sales Ambassador at TECLA, you'll be the face of our company at curated, invite-only dinners and private events for CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and tech leaders in your city. You'll help us build trust and visibility within your city's tech community by representing TECLA at high-quality events, building authentic connections, and introducing decision-makers to our nearshore staffing model. This is a part-time, 1099 contractor position ideal for professionals already working full-time in tech or sales who enjoy networking and attending events.

Duties/Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Event Sales Ambassador are to attend local events, build meaningful connections with attendees, present TECLA in an approachable, thoughtful way, and follow up to drive business outcomes. You will:
  • Attend local tech dinners and networking events (usually weekday evenings).
  • Represent TECLA professionally and enthusiastically.
  • Introduce TECLA's services to engineering leaders in a natural, non-pushy way.
  • Network with attendees and foster authentic relationships.
  • Ensure attendees have a great time-warm, fun, and memorable experiences lead to strong connections.
  • Take casual photos/videos on your phone for social and internal content.
  • Bring event materials (swag, brochures, etc.)-shipped to your home in advance.
  • After the event, send friendly follow-ups to connections via email or LinkedIn.
  • Maintain and share a simple connection tracker/spreadsheet with names, notes, and follow-up plans.
  • Pursue and close business from your event relationships when relevant (with our support).

Compensation

Flat Rate per Event
  • $350 for repping at 3/hr event
  • Can vary based on location, duration, and responsibilities.

Commission: Generous commissions for leads you generate that become paying customers.
  • Lead-to-client commission ? $1,000 per converted account.
  • Additional sales commissions may be available depending on deal size and involvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Already working full-time (remote preferred) in sales, tech, or a people-facing role. (at a non-competing company)
  • Confident, warm, and skilled at building genuine relationships.
  • Comfortable speaking about TECLA's value proposition after brief training.
  • Familiar with the world of software engineering, DevOps, and/or cloud.
  • Located in a major U.S. tech hub (Seattle, SF, LA, Austin, NYC, Miami, etc.).
  • Able to attend 1-3 events per quarter locally (evening hours).
  • Organized and proactive with follow-up and reporting.
  • Has a great sense of energy and enjoys talking to people.
