Position Summary:
Full-time instructors in our program are committed to teaching a broad spectrum of Aviation topics using various methods and modes of instruction to ensure student engagement and student success. We seek an additional team member who can adapt instructional methods to meet the needs of our diverse students and have a variety of professional and personal interests.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Full-time instructors are expected to teach the equivalent of 15-hour course load per semester
Facilitate learning and help students achieve academic success and retention
Evaluate and assess student performance
Provide academic advising
Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met on a classroom, discipline/program, and College level
Evaluate and revise course outlines and course materials
Maintain competency and currency in the teaching fields
Engage in professional development in current and emerging instructional approaches to engage new majority learners
Serve actively as a member of the department and discipline groups
Participate in fostering partnerships that that strengthen educational opportunities in response to community needs
Work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students and utilize a collegial style in all forms of communication
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations: a. Part 61, 65 -Pilot and Flight Instructor Certification, Dispatch b. Part 91 -General Operating Rules c. Part 141 - Flight Schools.
FAA certification(s): Certified Flight Instructor with instrument instructor rating, single-engine land, multi-engine land or ground instructor with advanced and instrument instructor ratings.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aviation or other technical degree that has direct application to Aviation Operations.
Two years of professional (paid) experience in one or more of these aviation industry occupations: commercial pilot, flight instructor, airline dispatcher, air traffic controller, manager or supervisor in a) airline operations, b) general aviation commercial operations or c) air traffic services.
If the successful applicant possesses a bachelor's degree, the university may require, based upon the level of industry experience, that the applicant commit to complete a master's degree within three years of the date of hire as a condition of employment.
