Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to providing high quality care and safety to patients as well as the systems supporting research, care and administration. The Sr. Quality Manager will facilitate implementation of Quality Management principles and tools so that optimal quality of care and research & the highest level of patient safety and outcomes can be achieved for Graduate Medical Education (GME) Housestaff. This position will also have institutional responsibility for ensuring regulatory compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) institutional requirements, managing improvement metrics related to the Clinical Learning Environment, and other applicable Graduate Medical Education (GME) requirements across the organization.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education, the Sr. Quality Manager: provides facilitation for process improvement initiatives regarding healthcare quality and patient safety outcomes; ensures institutional compliance with accreditation requirements and regulatory standards; educates team members on accreditation requirements and regulatory standards; and provides project management for priority goals. This position collaborates with OSU Medical Center senior leaders to develop, promote and foster successful implementation of team-based initiatives that align with institutional and accreditation standards, meet healthcare quality and safety outcomes, and ensure GME integration with these initiatives.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree in health-related specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. MBA, MHA preferred. Minimum Experience Requirements: 4 years of relevant experience required; experience in program planning and administration in primary clinical learning environments (PCLE) preferred; Clinical experience (RN/BSN) desired; considerable experience and knowledge of medical education and fellowship training program accreditation requirements and guidelines preferred; computer with knowledge of Microsoft Office; teaching knowledge of quality improvement methodologies desired. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen
