SCADA Consultant - Energy Management (Sr Level) at Horizontal Talent in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SCADA Consultant to join our team. This role involves supporting and maintaining SCADA and EMS applications, ensuring seamless operations in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze client business requirements to identify and solve technical problems related to SCADA and EMS applications.
• Configure systems and resolve issues related to real-time technology and operations.
• Act as a communication liaison and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EMS applications between business partners, IT teams, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in the configuration, implementation, and support of interfaces for EMS applications to existing enterprise applications like ESB, APIs, and OSI Soft PI interface.
• Engage in project management activities to ensure timely project delivery.
• Participate in regular meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills

• Experience with ICCP, RTU, and Reliance Application (XA-21).
• Familiarity with Electric SCADA Systems and Real-Time Data Broadcasting.
• Understanding of networking protocols, automation, and control systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, PowerShell, Python, VB, PERL, Linux, or similar.
• Experience with building/developing HMI screens and modifying database points.
• Knowledge of regulated support models - NERC-CIP and Change Management process & Tools (ServiceNow).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with Data Historian systems, particularly PI.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with TSM, AGC/GDC, Time & Frequency, Sequential Control, SOE/Alarm management, ICCP, RTU, Data Broadcast, Historian PI, and Reliance Application (XA-21).
• Excellent analytical skills and a positive mindset to tackle day-to-day application/operation issues.
• Experience with custom scripts/integrations such as Python, PERL, VB, SQL, etc.
• Experience supporting Linux environments.
• Proficiency in engaging with vendors and stakeholders, utilizing effective communication skills.
