The Regional Safety Manager is the lead for safety initiatives across multiple disciplines, supervising a team of safety professionals in the field and working closely with the Safety Director. This role involves significant travel, approximately 75%, to ensure the implementation and adherence to safety protocols across various projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive safety support for management at multiple levels and field operations.
Conduct routine field safety assessments to promote a People First Culture and ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal requirements.
Offer strategic guidance on planning, development, administration, and management of the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Program.
Lead or assist in incident investigations in collaboration with the Safety Director, focusing on significant events to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
Establish and maintain partnerships with clients through effective communication and interaction, aligning safety practices with client expectations.
Coordinate and participate in safety meetings with senior leadership and safety team members, promoting the continuous improvement of safety measures.
Support the professional development of safety team members, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
Manage the allocation of safety personnel to projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage and support.
Education and Certifications:
A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Safety Management or a similar related field is required.
Certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals is required.
Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years of construction safety experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have demonstrated leadership skills.
The ability to communicate effectively up and down the organizational structure.
Strong planning, organizational, and people management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Bluebeam, and similar software.
