About the Role
Kitsap Credit Union is hiring a full-time Director of Indirect Lending to work hybrid out of our corporate office in Bremerton, Washington. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Indirect Lending department. This role will develop and maintain ongoing business relationships with dealers and vendors and originate loans for the Kitsap Credit Union's portfolio for current and new members of the credit union. This role will also ensure that loan underwriting policies and procedures are being adhered to and participate in risk management of the indirect loan portfolio.
Salary Range: $110,582.25 - $138,227.81 depending on experience
Bonus Target: 12% potential incentive of base pay
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

Principal Accountabilities
Research, develop, implement, and administer current and new indirect lending policies and procedures.
Ensure achievement of credit union objectives by planning and administering the indirect lending functions, motivating department to increase productivity and to provide excellent customer service while controlling department expenses.
Look for ways to streamline the Indirect Loan processes, including decreasing turnaround time on loan decisions and increasing look to book and approved to book ratios.
Participate in Indirect loan planning, as well as prepares, maintains, and coordinates the reporting relating to established goals.
Serve as Operations Manager for department technological systems and System Administrator for lending platform and lending applications.
Recommend and assist with the creation/implementation of indirect loan promotions among participating dealers.
Review credit applications for loans to determine creditworthiness, ensuring that all loans are within current credit policy.
Assist Loan Officers when handling more difficult loan requests and complex problems with dealerships and members.
Responsible for maintaining dealer relationships by providing excellent customer service and through business development.
Work with Accounts Control as necessary to facilitate collection efforts as it relates to dealer relationships.
Manage Indirect Lending team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, developing, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing employee job contributions; maintaining compensation; resolving problems; and implementing change.

Ability to develop and recommend new loan products, services, policies, and procedures.

Ability to work and negotiate with dealership employees to achieve the desired credit quality goal of the credit union.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software, including Excel.
Working knowledge of consumer lending terminology, concepts, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of NCUA and State of Washington compliance and regulatory environment for consumer lending.
Demonstrates a high level of engagement and active collaboration contributing to a positive team environment.
Understand, model, and represent KCU's core values.
Required Qualifications and Education
Bachelors' degree in Business Administration or related area or equivalent experience.
Two years of progressive experience with managing loan underwriting systems.
Five years of progressive management experience required with financial institution knowledge of indirect lending credit and operations.
