The Distribution Associate 1 plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials within our distribution center. This position demands a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently, utilizing established procedures to optimize processes and maintain high standards of quality. You'll be responsible for a range of tasks, contributing directly to our operational effectiveness. Key responsibilities include:
Efficiently loading and unloading freight
Utilizing computer systems to generate essential documentation
Accurately locating, moving, and managing materials throughout the warehouse
Maintaining meticulous records of all material movements
Rigorous verification of chemical, catalog, and order details against packing instructions
Precise labeling and marking of packages, adhering to hazardous materials regulations
Organizing and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment
Proactively reporting any safety hazards
Operating powered pallet jacks and other material handling equipment (as needed)
Accurate order selection and processing
Expertly packing hazardous materials for shipment, complying with all relevant regulations
Preparing shipments, ensuring accurate labeling and compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMO standards
Conducting audits under guidance
Scanning and metering products into the shipping system
Completing assigned miscellaneous duties and projects
Maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality
Adhering to all Good Distribution Practices (GDP)
Receiving and processing materials from external vendors
Shift: 1st shift, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, M-F
Physical Attributes:
Wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment "PPE" to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles
Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl
Lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted
Move more than 50 pounds with assistance
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus
Regular use of phones, computers, office equipment, and laboratory equipment
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ year of material handling work experience
1+ year of experience with hazardous materials
Knowledge of shipping regulations
